Inclusive education relies on understanding how additional needs influence learning, communication, and emotional well-being across childhood development. When SEN awareness is limited, pupils may not receive the understanding or support needed to engage confidently within educational environments. This course is designed for learners who recognise that SEN knowledge carries responsibility, not just good intentions.
Our CPD-accredited course explores Special Educational Needs through SEN support frameworks, high-quality teaching principles, and recognised SEN teaching methodologies. Learners examine communication and interaction needs, cognition and learning differences, social, emotional, and mental health considerations, and sensory or physical needs affecting pupil engagement. Working in partnership with families and professionals is also explored to support collaborative understanding within education settings.
By completing this course, learners develop a structured theoretical foundation for understanding SEN roles and responsibilities. Many professionals later reflect that earlier SEN awareness could have improved inclusion outcomes, developed informed understanding now, and remained aligned with inclusive education values and professional expectations.
The course is delivered through our online learning platform, accessible through any internet-connected device. There are no formal deadlines or teaching schedules, meaning you are free to study the course at your own pace.
You are taught through a combination of
